By using HDMI and Liveview mode can I record stream out of HDMI without internal recording in the camera? Thanks

I think record too. what I'm curious about is if the canons are outputting about 600 lines disguised as 1080, can that be scaled and recorded to damn good sd? cause if it'll give me a solid 960x540 i'm done. that's alli need here for work.

I think it gets scaled to whatever monitor it's hooked up to anyway. I think a true HD screen needs to be 28 or 32 inch. True hd is 1920 x 1080 I believe. (someone correct me if im talking ****). and say 7inch monitor isn't gonna be full hd. But it'll produce a crisp picture, around the resolution you're after I reckon It'll record full hd in camera.

I am asking in regard to Atomos Ninja use, not a monitor use. I am trying to figure out if I'll have to deal with the red dot issue.

yes. as far as I know there is no way to get rid of the nasty red dot.

Anything that shows up on the LCD normally will show up on HDMI out. and is scaled down to 480 I believe.
