Perform some tests on how soon the T2i will get overheat based on T2i along, T2i + battery grip, and, T2i + battery grip + external monitor.

From the result, the battery grip and external monitor does help in reducing the time for T2i to reach it's overheat status. However, the difference is not significant.

under warm conditions, there was a 56% improvement with the battery grip and external monitor. i would call that significant.
 
When I first did the test, I have the bare T2i sit on top of my desk.. I got about 1:45 minutes and still no overheat. Then I realized the big desk is a big heat sink to the camera. I then redo the test sitting on tripod.
