Created a short documentary for the second semester of the second year at Staffordshire University, England. Currently studying Media Production there!
Took a break from the Uni's JVC HD110s, bought my own 550D and shot entirely on that, kit lens and all.
I demand to know why there was no aliasing/moire on the shot of the brick wall. The video as whole looks pretty good. Just wondering, why is it blurry on the sides. Nice concept for a short. Thanks.
using the blur vignette on every shot is distracting. i try and make it a rule of thumb to not use an identical filter on everything in the whole piece, makes it feel like all that was done was copy and paste.
The blur vignette was a personal choice of mine, to personally stylize it. It was sort of a test more than anything, and I felt that I should have used it sparingly rather than putting it all over the footage. However, that's a lesson learned for another film, I suppose!
The audio footage was recorded alongside it on a Marantz audio recorder, and a Sennheiser microphone. I wish it came off the 550D though...! Nightmare in the edit!
