syncing audio with DAT

Is there any to sync the DVX video with the audio on a Tascam DA-P1 DAT machine?

..use a Clapper/Slate

And, if the DAT recorder in question has an audio outpt, you could plug that into the DVX input so that you got an (almost) matching waveform that you can use to sync in edit.

I jam sync by audio recorder with timecode and then feed the timecode to an audio channel on the DVX100. In post, I decode the LTC on the audio channel and use that to sync with my imported BWF files from the audio recorder.
