My experience with smaller cameras is that one is pretty limited to certain angles of shooting. When shooting untypical angles either qiuck fatigue or lousy display view is unavoidable.
Since almost every smaller cam is also lousy balanced in the hand - there is a need for some kind of solution.
The ideal solution (which could be easily implemented) is rotational handle sitting on the same base as display (one on each side of the cam), also on a slider (front to back of the cam). I had this idea long ago, and after seeing and using something similar on small Sony HC1000 (which had only rotational handle) I confirmed my thoughts.
That way the perfect balance could be made with the length slider and the perfect angle for BOTH display and handle, because as you would rotate the handle - the display would be always turned to you.
Further benefit for RED is that this could be made as additional RED CAGE for customization.
All of my ideas for RED are rather easily implemented, since the goal is to provide something that is useful in near future...
