Switching From Canon 7D To Lumix GH2 What Are The Pros And Cons Of This Switch Advice

What about Lens options ? I have the 7d with the L-Glass the best you can have. How will the GH2 quality compare with the Lumix Glass vs the L-Glass ? Also will GH2 adapters be able to Autofocus or use Aperture ? What are the negatives of using an adapter. I need to make some crucial decisions. I like the GH2 bc its touchscreen and have AF during video. Also the codec thing is tricky too. Please help me.

There's an eos m43 adapter coming out soon with electronic contacts that will you allow to use your lenses.

Why don't you go try a gh1 at a store? If you like the gh1 you'll love the gh2

So the m43 eos adapter will be able to AF and change aperture ? So does this mean I should upgrade to GH2 and keep my Canon L-glass lenses ? Right now I have the following lenses the 85mm 1.2 Mk II L, 50mm 1.2 L, 24mm 1.4 L, 24-70mm L, and the 70-200mm L for my 7d

L glass is far from the "best" you can have. Ever shot through some Leica glass? Maybe some Zeiss?
I have about $15,000 of L glass for my canons. Some are good, some are great. But none of them touch my Leica glass. For video on the Gh2, I find the 14-140 to be rather good. I have the 7-14 which is quite amazing. Keep in mind that panasonic and leica are good friends. Keep in mind that lots of leica glass has been made in Japan. Heck, I even have a Lumix Lx5 with Leica glass on it. I have an HVX200 with Leica optics.
It's what the glass is projecting too that you should be concerned about. I bought the Gh2 out of the distaste for moire and quite frankly am very happy with the results. I also like the m4/3 format DOF. I have the 5D if I need to get a 1/2in. DOF. But stop down that Canon and you can basically forget the shot due to it's short comings with Moire.

To the OP. I would keep your 7d and just save up for another camera like the Gh2. I have yet to shoot a still with the Gh2, so I can't really say if it will perform like my 5d or not, much less the 7d. But, my 5d is back to my still camera with the option of video, and the Gh2 is more my go too video with the option of still. They're all just tools in the end anyway.....
