Switcher to DVX to Computer

Does anyone know a way to go from a switcher (3 cam shoot) to a dvx100b to a computer. I can get the feed to the DVX and record to a tape. I can also get the live feed from the DVX to the computer(cam mode) When it is in VCR mode receiving the signal from the switcher i can not get it to capture to the computer. Any suggestions?

Cameras don't have a video input to work like a deck. You can go from the camera(s) to the switcher and then from the switcher to the computer.

On the contrary, the A/V connections on the DVX act as both inputs and outputs. In VTR mode, the camera can be set to take analog in through those connections, which will in turn be sent on out the FireWire to the computer.

With your NLE, you may need to set your control protocol to a generic, non-controllable device setting. I'd highly recommend running tape as well just in case the capture computer crashes.
