Sweet case

I bought a case at Goodwill and modified it to carry my 7D and lenses and thought I'd share it with you because you might be able to use my modification. It came with the eggshell foam on the top but none in the body. I picked up some 2" thick foam and 1" thick from JoAnn fabrics. This foam only comes in seafoam green and I cut 12" x 12" squares from both sizes. I traced the outlines of all my lenses, camera and VideoMic with a sharpie and used a kitchen steak knife to cut the shapes out of the 2" thick block. I then bought some black fabric dye and dyed the foam and rinsed and dried it. I put the 1" thick block on the bottom and then the 2" thick on top of that. Everything fits snuggly and looks pretty professional and I'm able to carry everything in one case.

I cut out sections for camera body, Kit Lens, Tamron 17-50, 50mm 1.8, Digital Concepts Wide Angle, VideoMic

That's a sweet find dude! I'll be seeking out the goodwill's first thing in the morning...thanks for the heads up

Boulder,

Nice job. A word of warning though. Some foams emit a gas that can be very damaging to coated lenses. I am not sure about the one you used, it may be fine.
