Going to be doing a shoot in Beidler swamp in SC. Have been there before and the place is literally crawling with wildlife. Lots of gators, snakes, lizards, turtles, birds and gorgeous black water with orange fungus covered stumps and 1,000 year old cypress.
Obviously, a zoom would be a good fit here. Problem is all I have is the slow GH1 kit lens. And there will probably be times I won't have a lot of light.
Had been considering a 50mm 1.4 as my second lens before this shoot opportunity, but am now seriously thinking a fast zoom would make more sense right now--just can't see myself getting close enough to a gator for the 50 1.4 DOF to pay off.
Any suggestions on a really good lens for this type of shoot?
Have been looking at the Olympus Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5. I know I won't get AF, and I'd need the DMW-MA1 mount adapter. I've read reviews and this is considered a pretty good lens. Anyone here familiar with it?
Any other suggestions? Thanks.
