FEATURE: Survival - The Feature, based on our Timefest Entry...

Or maybe George Lucas was thinking "whooow, I sit 3 tables away from Jeremiah"

So the producer we met with is out of town this week. This means I have until Friday to turn in a casting "wish list", character bio's, and a script polish. If it wasn't for WestFest, I'd have the first two done already ;)

Who's on your "wish list"? Or is it bad form for you to say?

That's a darn good question :) I'd love to say who is on our list and for which parts, but I think it probably is bad form.

I'm not seasoned enough in Hollywood for that.

How about this: Everybody throw out who they would like to see as the Survivalist. Whoever is the first person to correctly post the name of the actor we end up signing gets invited to the premier? I'll even pay for your plane ticket. I won't promise you hotels and caviar though :undecided

*EDIT: And only one name per post. That way you don't just post every actor in the "phonebook"...

The Survivalist, BTW, is based on the character I played in the original short...

Don't worry, he'll look a lot cooler than me:

Marketing meeting today. It's kind of weird talking about marketing a movie that really doesn't even have a finalized script yet, but hey I'm not complaining :)

Marketing meeting pushed to tomorrow :(

First screenplay polish is done though. Added a creepy new scene in which several hands are lopped off :)

Worked on another script polish today. As soon as we are 100% on it, it will go to the distribution company's execs as well as our line producer who will then be able to write out the complete budget and script breakdown.

Also working on the website and logos for our new production company: Collective Minds Media.

25 pages of notes from the producers, script doctors, and distribution company. We've got a week for the rewrite.

Notes from producers and distribution company ?? don't look at it...They won't notice...

Just the script doctos might be usefull....

Except for the fact that the producers and distribution are where the film gets its funding. And the script doctors only keep getting paid if they say the script is bad and that they need to be hired in order for it to really work :2vrolijk_08:

In all seriousness though, I'm really happy with the new direction the screenplay is taking. It is currently at 116 pages and being reviewed by the producers. We are supposed to get more feedback soon, and then either bring on the doctors or send it to the line producer so we can finalize our budget.

Sounds like things are going well!

Slowly but surely :) Hollywood is a weird beast. I never thought I'd find myself rewriting a screenplay so that it fits in :kali: "proper" three act structure, but when that's the only language the investors speak...

If you think you need 50.000... go for 100.000

Don't forget "forgetable" things like ADR (actors time...studio rent.... technician rent), Foley (Foley artist, Foley recorder). Sound designer, sound editor, sound editor assitant, sound mixer, composer, sound effect editor,.....
