FEATURE: Survival - The Feature, based on our Timefest Entry...

I have just finished the second of our two budgets. One of them is over $2.8 Million. The other is just under $140K.

Which one should we go with?

Going on week 3. I hope we get funding soon...

In fact, if we get a million fans by the time we start shooting, my sister will name her next child Megatron :2vrolijk_08:

I was reading "Magnetron" :Drogar-Dum(DBG)::-Dum(DBG)::-Laugh(DBG):

But then I realised some letters switched places

Plan is to head up to Humboldt this weekend for some location scouting, BTS with the film commissioner and, hopefully, trailer shooting.

Had a great birthday yesterday, and tonight we are headed up to Humboldt county to meet with the film commissioner, scout locations, take some nice photos and hopefully get a little bit of BTS.

Oh yeah, and we're shooting a teaser trailer ;)

very nice looking locations.

Hopefully the day of shooting you don't get any disturbing things (people).

99% of the shoots I did in small towns was like "oh, don't worry there are not that much cars here". Then the day of the shoot ..."oh, didn't know there were that much cars".

The abobe phrase has nothing to do with the pictures, but I wanted to share

That's the best part: everything in those pictures (that isn't on the coast) is on 1100 acres of VERY private property. Also, the owner of the property (who is close friends with the film commissioner) wants to invest in our film :)

How cool is that?

That's not cool...that's great !

Wished I could fly over to help with sound recordingd :-p

Now that I'm using both a 7D and a GH1, I understand how Barry Green can't pick one as being better than the other. I love them both for different reasons, and we will be using both in Survival, as well as an HPX170 and hopefully a Panasonic AG-AF100 -if we can convince them to let us beta test :)

Somehow I have a really good feeling about this project. Looking very much forward to following your progress, and I hope you will post lots of cool info.

Are you having trouble with aliasing in the forest? I had some serious aliasing with my K-X when I shot in the forest. I'd use a different cam for wider or more detailed shots if I were to do it again. Is that what the HPX is for?

I actually haven't noticed too much aliasing so far. In principal you are correct though, the HPX will be used for any shot where aliasing, jello, mud, or any other DSLR problems become too noticeable.
