It doesnt look like super8 at all.
You need to do more color correcting, and make everything more milky, less contrasty, and add more of a pinkish / orange tone to it.
And the depth of field is too shallow.
Try and shoot wideshots with the exposure all the way open to bring the resolution way down, and then color correct it "milky" in post, then it might look more like 8mil. Now it looks like dvx with some scratches added in post.
Super 8 ran at two speeds: sound footage at 24fps, or silent footage at 18. A lot of people shot at 18 because it made a cartridge last a lot longer (3:20 at 18fps vs. 2:30 at 24fps).
I loved it, Rook! It transported me back to my childhood watching footage my dad had shot. Washed out, shakey, grainy--ours was always slightly undercranked for some reason.
I thought the beginning projector sound helped supply the mood.
Creative! Anachronic indicators (stuff that wouldn't have been in the 70's) can be good or bad, depending on what you're doing. As has been said, 16-9 was a giveaway, and the lens is too good! Need more grain, a bit less DOF, and the middle of the short seemed less washed out than the ends. I think the border burn is a good idea, personally, just be careful of over-doing it.
I think the hairline streaks could be increased a bit. Sometimes that can be over-done too, though.
