Super D - by Drl Ahye

Cool and fun to watch...I would like to see the end, though. What happens?

I might think about flipping on the nd filter for the outside shots. That way you could expose the sky properly...

really cool. maybe the bit at the end with the d coming from his chest was a bit long and i was expecting it to jump back into the film afterwards. but great idea. liked it.

Its weird cuz i had the ND filter on and still lost the entire sky.

Sorry about the ending. I wish it did jump back in but I developed the idea in 5 minutes and drew a sketchy storyboard because the sun was setting.
I wanted to test out that jumping trick so the story wasn't my priority at the time.

Generally I'm not good with endings....

since you are down with after effects, maybe you could have him lift something really heavy, maybe a car, and drop it on the villain.... we got the speed and the flying part but no feats of strength. essential for superheroism.

haha...yea that would be good... Car Tossing, I like your thought process...Speed, Flying, Strength...

I would go back and tinker around but I've got so much unfinished stuff to edit. i wanna get as much done as possible and make mistakes and learn from them.

I hated how the D came out too slow but I edited it on my laptop and the render times are exhausting so I left it as is.

Thanks for the tips... if you pass me a link, I'll be glad check out your work.

Cool stuff man....you're videos are hot. What country are you from?

Are those music videos shot on a DVX in 24p? It has to be the compression that kept it looking so good.

I liked the cinematography...it was all good

The editing style is impressive...

Great work...

hey thanks. i live in los angeles. i did a couple of videos for this persian dude. i'm guessing that's why you asked. all the stuff was shot dvx 24p except "bargard" which was super 16mm film.

I see... Your work did feel a bit foreign. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago, studying Digital Movie Making at IADT in Tampa, FL.

"Bargard" really looks sharp and beautiful...I can't wait to try film like you.

"Dobareh" shows that the DVX is a strong soldier. I can't judge based on web clips so tell me...How close is the DVX to Super 16 and what did your scene file for Dobareh look like?

the dvx is sharper than 16mm but still does not handle contrast as well. if i have the choice, i'll go dvx with a 35 adapter. i use scene file 6 and pretty much leave everything factory. the outside shots on dobareh were done with a 35 adapter. inside stuff was just dvx.

Thank for the scene file info. All you're work looks like it was shot on film. I'm alway happy to meet people that know their stuff. I'm not as sharp on stuff like which compression to use and how to get the best looking image for TV or a small film festival. Can you givemesome advice.

Also, what is it like working with those 35 adapters? are they a pain to use or something you can't live without?

can u post a dowloadable version of the film it was great i liked alot realy alot to bad hero fest is over man , also wanted to ask did u do any color correction ????? and ifso would did u use what program ???? and what did u tweak ???

peace n luv

yes, and yes.

to really use one effectively, you really need a follow focus. trying to twist a focus ring without one causes a lot of camera shake. but once you've got it together, you're hooked. it really makes it look so much more like film.
