Super 8

Billy Pilgrim

Stye in my eye
So I made this hsort film called "Super 8". I've been working on it for a few months, an dit's almost done, I just need to reshoot some stuff. It's only really taken this long because it took a couple months for the score to be completed, and I'm glad I was patient enough to wait for a couple of friends of mine to finish it. I want to post the whole film, but I want to send it to some film festivals, who prohibit having films that have been uploaded ont he internet, so I thought I'd at least share some grabs.

It's an experimental non-narrative film. I shot it and acted in it myself. I guess you could say I "directed" it, but since I was all by myself, I don't know if it really counts. I also edited the film. Two friends of mine did the score, which you can hear part of Here. It's the last song in the playlist.

Here's a pseudo "trailer" for the film:

UPDATE:
Here's the finished film:

Personally, I don't like using the term non-narrative, since almost any film created has some narrative characteristics :) . (that wasn't a knock on you, just an idea I borrowed from a book).

I really like these grabs. I like the look and especially the composition of these shots. Very interesting.

And judging by the piece of the score on the myspace you linked, I'm sure this will be quite an unique visual experience, haha

It's been a long time, almost two months, but here's the finished film, that I'm now unveiling to the public, right here at DVXuser:

Super 8

This is the first time I've spent this much time working on one film, and waiting so long to finally show it to the public. The time it took to make it wasn't actually that long, but I was patient and waited for my composer friend to work perfect the score, instead of getting some really quick music or using something I don't own the rights to, to have it done right away. I actually started out with old footage left over from a movie I made in 2005 (which I trashed) and re-shot the opening. A couple months later, I re-shot the second half and wound up with a completely new movie all together. I've been patient and taken my time perfecting it and really trying to get it right. So here it is finally.
