I'm looking to build a rig for my new DSLR. I'm used to shooting cinema, but due to a recent career shift (I'm teaching college full-time), I need a versatile rig. I plan on getting into weddings and doing local commercials on weekends and then full-time during the summer months. I am also thinking of getting a Blackmagic 4k camera or a Sony FS700 sometime next year.
I currently need a heavy-duty rig that is future-proof for larger cameras. For now, I would like shoulder support, height-adjustable mount, arm rather than cage, and follow focus. I will be adding a battery mount and matte-box later. I'm hoping to spend under $1,300, but I realize that might be a stretch.
Any suggestions?
