studio filming tips or advice?

Hey I typically shoot live concerts for bands and sometimes music/promo vid's; however I got asked to film a rap thing in a studio about him talking about his songs and some bits of him doing his thing in the studio/recording. So, dumb question, but is their any advice or things I should go when filming in a studio? I mean it seems very easy and almost a break from the whole band thing I usually do. So yeah anything I should know or pointers? I plan on shooting with only one camera because he said it's fairly small and he wants just a bit of him talking then recording and that's all. I plan to shoot 24pa and with a shutter of 1/48 and obviously do all my white balancing and what not. See usually I'm used to a nicely light stage and the 24p looks amazing; however for this kind of shoot I'm not totally sure. I feel like the dvx performs best at 24p and always used it anyways but I just ask because I know theres a lot of experienced ppl out there. So yeah any tips or last minute advice? Thanks a lot!

You're going to want to bring a small lighting kit, especially for the interview.

Shooting in recording studios can be tricky. Not only are there space limitations, you don't want to get in the way of the engineer's work, which also means you won't be able to be in the sound room while they're actually recording. You'll need to work it out with the engineer ahead of time to be able to shoot a couple of takes from the control room, and then have them "fake" a couple of takes so that you can shoot in the sound room without worrying about adding noise to the recording.

For sound, keep a wireless lav on the artist, unless it causes problems for the engineer (shouldn't). Also, try to negotiate a board feed (rough mix) either straight to the camera or to a separate audio recorder for editing in later.
