Studio controls for Ex Focus and Zoom

This is Tom from VariZoom. I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have a solution for focus for the EX. We just finished the HD Expo in Burbank where it was demonstrated for a couple days. We will also be attending DVExpo at Los Angeles convention center where we will have it on display as well.

This gives the operator a focus handle and a seperate zoom at the end of the tripod head arms same as you expect with any professional camera.

That IS good news! So that means the mechanism is there in the camera's port, but Sony just doesn't document it.
 
Do you plan a smaller rocker version suitable for Steadicam use? Push Auto Focus, with Iris and a way to trigger shot transition sequences too :)

No there is no such port. It is a mechanical control. I'll try to get some pics posted before Dv Expo ends next week.

We have the new manual and electronic focus controls for the EX series. Requires rods comes with universal bracket for 15 and 19mm rods
