C100: Stuck setting up C100 audio XLR

I'm trying to set up my rode NTG3 microphone with an XLR cable into the C100.

- I'm plugged into CH1
- settings on the handle. audio level: A, XLR terminal CH1: line, audio in switch: EXT
- Audio setup settings on camera menu: audio input all options for CH1 illuminated.

However the microphone doesn't seem to be picking anything up and I can't hear anything through headphones. I've tried looking at online manuals and videos but I'm really stumped and feel like I'm missing some glaringly obvious missing detail or setting. I've tried the mic through a Zoom recorder and that is fine.

try setting the switch on the handlebar to mic/48v or mic if the mic doesn't need phantom power.

*sigh* thank you! Could have sworn I read instructions saying not to do that, but it's working.

The Røde NTG3 requires phantom power. It's also "mic level" so "line" won't work right.

The correct setting for the NTG3 is "MIC +48V" on the Canon cams.
