FEATURE: Stricken the Feature - A Matt Sconce Film

What a weekend! A 10 out of 10 in terms of getting fantastic shots. I am soooo tired... :-KnockedOut(D We are on schedule and everything in the can is wonderful.

Rain rigs worked great. Driving rig worked really great! The 21' tall Hypercrane and the Hypercam shots will be to drool over. I can't wait to see what Matt does with this footage. Did I say that I am really tired?

That car rig looks pretty crazy. Stills from the camera's eye please!

How are you feeling so far about your shoot, Matt? As a Producer and Director, either hat.

So far, I am very happy with the shoot. It feels like an endurance race as we are just now through our first month of a four month production schedule, but people are pacing themselves and showing up giving 100%. As a Producer, my head is about to explode trying to wrangle all the little things needed to make the movie work, like locations, permits, contracts, etc. I look forward to the day where I do not have to wear every hat. As a Director, I am excited. While I always need to improve and strive to, I feel much more confident with my ability to give an actor tools that allow them to bring out honesty in the character.

This week will be about wrangling four locations. Our first intense Make-up scene with Stephanie is Saturday.

Tired but happy, Matt Sconce

This is a great thread, Matt, and I love the fact that you've got the whole extended family thing going on. Your dad's inventiveness is really fascinating. Maybe you should consider a mini-doc special feature section on the DVD about him and his creations...

Big thanks to both of you for contributing here!

Wow, that is a sweet crane! Great location too, was that tough to get?

Actually, My dad called the owner up and found out his son went to school in my dad's class. They talked for a while and the guy said we could use it any Sunday evening for no cost, and no insurance. That is why I love small towns. :love4:

i don't see an adapter on that camera. What's-a-matter, can't reach to pull focus? :) Good Lord, I didn't know you needed helicopter shots in this film!!!!

Ha! I am quite tall and could almost reach...okay maybe not. I wish I had a remote focus puller but alas...that would require more money than I have seen in a while. I will give a little teaser right now. A teaser trailer is almost complete that includes a shot from that behemoth of a crane. Stay tuned. :violin:-Matt

This is looking GREAT Matt! Can't wait to see the final product....sign me up for at least one copy.

The Crane doesn't look that big to me as 'the Matt in the hat' tops around 6'8" behind it. The crane head actually rises to 21' when it is almost straight up.

Hey Matt, trailer looks great! The one thing that bothered me is that it looks like you cross the line in the bar scene.

David and Stephanie look like they're going to be great in this. Love the creepy red shot of that guy about to slit his throat.

Tap's Microphone......"Bueller...Bueller..."

Anyone else get a chance to watch the teaser yet?
Go to www.strickenthemovie.com and click on media and then you can (watch it on facebook, youtube, vimeo, or download the HD version in wmv form) -Matt
