Not even 1 minute + in and you already have 10+ rack focus shots , way to many imo. It seems more like a tech demo you are trying to do here. Also your scenes are way to dark and I believe how you color corrected it, made it even worse.

Sorry my friend but imo this should have been shot a lot better.

I didn't know you had authority to deem rack focus shots in abundance as bad. Geeze, why don't you just knock the guy off his feet here? I don't think he said this is a feature film or documentary to be submitted to festivals. Perhaps the reason it seems like a tech demo (to you) is maybe because that was the intent. I for one appreciated him taking the time to show us the capabilities of the camera.

Maybe he thinks there's a finite number of rack focuses in the film universe and he doesn't want them all used up???

DC- thanks for showing us some of the Village, can we see more?

Were you watching the right video? There were zero of those in the first minute, then 4 in a row and then none after that. So, 4 total in 3+ minutes. I guess I'll have to try harder next time.

I actually think this is pretty amazing. I've been watching a TON of "short films" and "test footage clips" lately and this one really stands out--not because it's "slick" or "professional" (not that it ISN'T...) but because it actually embodies a lot of the rhetoric surrounding these cameras: a democratic eye, quiet moments, quietly observed, edited together with intelligence and modesty.

This clip actually proceeds from the idea that it's not about the camera, whereas so much of the gear porn I've been scraping my eyeballs across has in fact been obsessed with conforming to some utopic "professional" standard.

Maybe one day I can make something as slick as an insurance company commercial...

Great video. My only (Minor) nit-pick would be the multiple focus-racks along the railings. Other than that thumbs up!

Thanks for posting this video. Was really good to see what can be done with the T2i :) I liked this video.
