Street Video Shot With T2i/550D

thats deliberate lol. I was aiming for the computerized currupted data look.

IF you are going to do an effect imo you need to do it or not do it. IT does not look like an effect, and looks like the actual codec is breaking up.

Us as the audience do not know what the director/editor has intended to do and I truly believe there is a thin line between creativity and losing/confusing your audience.

Pretty good Music video, but personally I do not like the effect that was used as it honestly looks like the codec is breaking up, especially when this is something that many videos show when this actual problem occurs

Life4Eva, you crack me up, man.
You've been posting stuff like that all over the forum lately.

Sway187, I actually like the effect, and YES IT IS CLEARLY AN EFFECT, as real codec breaking up doesn't look as stylistic and perfectly timed like that.

Hey man he was giving you criticism that wasn't sugar coated. Accept it cause that is the kind of criticism that will take your stuff to the next level.

I agree that sugar coated criticism is often not helpful, but just because an opinion isn't sugar coated doesn't make it any more than what it is: an opinion.

Let's say I made a video with a character named Veronica, and that happens to be the same name as your ex wife. If you tell me that I should change the character because it reminds you of your ex, and therefore sucks, would I be "taking my stuff to the next level" by listening to you? Or would that just make you (and me by extension of listening to you) an idiot?

I'm just saying- I actually find life4eva's stuff rather entertaining so I'm not complaining too much, but he's become something of a troll around here lately. Sometimes he has a good point, but more often than not I notice he is jumping on the offensive, looking for something to criticize.
In this particular case, I disagree entirely with him. I'm not just sugar coating. The distortion is tasteful, stylistic and timed well.

Some good shots but I wasn't really able to discern if there was a story. I think a plot, even a very simple one, often separates quality from mediocrity.

Thanks Guys. The reason i dont do a story/script on these videos is because i beleive i'd be spending to much time on the video. The client pays £250 for what we call a "Hood Video" Which basically is a video shot in the shortest amount of time (2 hours) with no script. If they want a small story pieced toghther i'd do that from an extra £50 . Im trying to treat it as a business too.

I tottally agree though , im starting to get bored shooting randomly. Really going to try and do a scripted video next even if i've got to do it for free/discounted.

Thanks for all your input guys, really appreciated. :)
