"Street Pirate" - My First Documentary

CC, editing, and music were all ACE!

The subject matter was really interesting too!

What did you do for audio? (details, details...) Mic? Windscreen? External or into the XLR ports?

Thanks Guys. For audio we plugged an AKG C 568 B into the XLR ports. We used a windscreen at times for the harbour shots.

It's cool because I get emails from people every now and then saying that since they've seen the film they've run into him a few times and purchased drawings.

I think it's great knowing that you can make a change. Maybe not the change that is needed in the world but it's a start..People that would normally walk by this man now take the time to say hello and buy a drawing.

I too am curious about mic, it was a lil basey (if that is even a word) Rhode NTG-1 maybe. I thought this was well done. I felt sympathy for the man, so good on ya for that. That LS where he is sitting at the bus stop and the bus pulls up and his face is still framed within that small window...couldn't do that if you tried probably. Good job.

Good job of picking the subject. Nice mood control. Good photography. There was one instance in which we heard the interviewer ask the subject a question - that was a big spoiler for me... so unnecessary, it destroyed the convention that was established of just letting the guy talk - and for all that, the question wasn't very revealing, since we gathered as much from just listening to the guy. The other piece of criticism is that the last part was there to sort of showcase the music, but the music there IMHO was too "in your face", and it would have been better to have something more subtle in that segment. But those are nitpicks. Overall, good job.
