SHORT: STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN: THE DEVIL WITHIN - Short Film by Thousand Pounds Action Co.

Hey all, just wanted to share with you a great new short film done by my good friend Chris Cowan. I believe he's a member of this forum, but I wanted to help spread the word about this film that was personally funded by Capcom in hopes that more quality films like this are made and can be proven to be made. This short film is based on the recent release of the video game, "Street Fighter X Tekken", and for those who are fans of both games, I hope you enjoy. Even if you are not, I hope this is still entertaining nonetheless, and makes it worth enough to share. View below:

The fight choreography was awesome, really top notch. It's very difficult to shoot fight scenes well but this was superb. Excellent work there. The characters were cast well and the acting was solid.

Lighting needs work. A lot of the shots seemed muddy, washed out or both. Nothing really looked "crisp" even on 720p (although youtube may have some blame in that). I liked the camera work but I don't think the style is well suited to dslrs; the rolling shutter / wobbling was noticable.

The VFX work was severely lacking, it felt like an afterthought. To accomplish effects like these properly would take a large VFX budget and a lot time. I probably would have opted to leave them out. They're cheesy and I feel it distracted from the otherwise solid production value.

I was very entertained though, and I'm a huge fighting game fan, so this was a treat. Nice work.

Gonna disagree about the VFX. It fits the game's world accurately (as an avid fan, my thumb is still sore from being in the lab six hours straight working on my Akuma|Julia). It also fits the aesthetic of the video.

Reuben is goatlike but feels sort of miscast as Ken, but I can see why you guys picked him up.

Fan Films are tough, especially when you have a community of die hards looking at every detail to make sure it's right. Thousand Pounds!

this was awesome. Didnt like the look of Ken..didnt look "prettyboy" enough but other than that...and a few lighting and colour grading mismatches from shot to shot(cuz of the sunlight or maybe different shooting days), i loved it. shared
