7D Streaking and noise in sky and "solids"

I've shot a short (superflat) with the 7d and I have a lot of "streaking" and creeping in the large same colour areas. Is there a plugin/filter that can get rid of these?

Look at the wall:

"test1" is the converted h264 at proreshq.

These tests are graded but look the same and the fact that its a jpeg actually make it look less horrible.

HQ jpeg ungraded (h264 to proresHQ converted):

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

This is the limitation of the 8-bit codec the 7D uses to encode footage. Although I have never seen it this bad on anything I have shot, what you have there in the gray wall and blue sky are very tough situations of smooth gradations of color which really require more information to represent them then the camera can give.

One way to solve the "steps" of color in your footage is to add a little noise in post to hide it.

I've seen a lot of 7D footage with this...I just wasn't sure if it was from the camera or the final output codec (for web streaming).

Iso was at 100 for the outdoors, indoors 800, fstop 4, the lens doesnt have anything to do with it, I think its the superflat that does it, i think marvel cine is better, with col tone set to 0.

William is correct. 8-bit video. What you are seeing in that 1st video is banding or posterization from 8-bit video. It's not unique to the 7D.

Changing your settings, lenses etc... might help only a tiny tiny bit (if at all).

The only thing you can do is dither it
