C100: Strange image shifting with Canon EF lens

I'm shooting a doc down in Mexico on the C100 using the Canon EF 24-70mm lens.

Yesterday, something very strange happened that I haven't been able to reproduce yet. While shooting, the image quickly "jumped" or "shifted" up and down. I could heard noises (image stabilization?) inside the lens while it was occurring, though it continued after I turned off image stabilization. It seemed to roughly correspond to the camera being moved up or down. Here's a brief clip of it occurring:

Any ideas? Is my lens busted? Could this conceivably just happen once, and not mean something is wrong with the lens?

Lens needs to go in. Something wrong with the IS. Could be a pinched cable in there.

Erick,

Definitely the image stabilization fritzing out.

If it happens multiple times and is threatening your ability to continue shooting, I would suggest putting a little bit of paper tape over the two thicker right-most contacts on the lens. The camera will assume there is a third party non-EF lens attached and not pass any power through to the lens.

However, that also means you wont be able to set your aperture, so you'll have to pull the tape off, reattach the lens, set aperture, pull lens off (with the camera still on), and then retape and reattach.

This is all of course just to get you out of a pinch until you can get the lens into service, because there is definitely something wrong with it
