Curious about the actual file size for the 4.5 k images once they have gone through the Redcine process..
I'm not really that familiar with this kind of high quality footage. If I understand correctly DPX and CINEON seem to be the choice of the industry... So after the content of a 1 hour hard drive mag is copied over to a computer and processed to lets say 4.5k DPX, how much storage is needed for THIS footage?
I feel outputting 4.5k would be a great advantage and then crop it down to 4k. This way we can use the extra pixels for fine-tuning framing and head-room. But of course, this adds to the storage and it would have to be done at a DI house equipt with more horsepower!
Love the idea of Redcine by the way!
