unfortunately another victim of the theft ring currently running ripe in Los Angeles..
Camera & lenses stolen on Tuesday 15th March:
- Beautiful Canon C300 in custom case. 3 batteries (1x Canon, 2x aftermarket), flip down monitor, handle, power supply, charger, Hoodman, 2x Gold 32GB Sandisk CF cards. The C300 camera serial number is: 532470700255
- Canon 70-200mm 2.8 L IS USM II lens
- Canon 85mm 1.8 prime lens
Unfortunately no record of serial numbers of the lenses.
Camera was ‘rented’ and never returned, despite Photo Id’s, credit card etc taken during rental. Police report made.
KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED and don’t fall victim- This is a theft ring currently happening in Los Angeles. We have multiple victims in the last 4 weeks with the same story. Thief was a black male 22yrs old 6ft slim build going under the name ‘Ashton Lee Austin’ and driving a lowered black 4dr sedan with custom rims. He also works in tandem with an accomplice: black female 38 yrs old, heavy set woman going under the name Tameka Brown.
Any information leading to the recovery of this camera will receive a $500 cash reward. Unit may have been sold in Las Vegas, San Diego or surrounding areas. If you or a friend have recently purchased a Lens or Canon C300 in the last several weeks, especially from Craig's List, CHECK the serial number! If you have purchased this camera or lense(s), please contact us immediately as you are in position of stolen property. We will make a financial arrangement with you to see it returned.
This was a personal camera and unfortunately in between insurance policies (by 2 days) so this camera was uninsured and my workhorse. I am now a camera less DP without it. Very expensive lesson learned. Please help bring it home.
Thanks guys!
