Stolen Camera Alert! We could use your help!

A man calling himself Ryan Arsons, supposedly a UPM of the NYFA student film "Lupin" rented a C100 from us with what seemed like legit paperwork.

It has been days since the camera was supposed to be returned and we can't reach him.

If you come across anybody trying to sell a C100 bearing the serial number 612510100710, please report it in.

Thanks!

I am curious: what constitutes "legit paperwork"? If it was a rental cert, did you call to verify?
Not judging, just about to start a rental service and am looking to learn.
Thx

FYI, usually an insurance certificate is sent to a rental company by the Insurance company. That helps insure legitimacy of the renter, especially if you do not know who they are.

He was holding a certificate from an existing policy number. Though we realized that the production being covered by it was a forgery, as well as the certificate that put me as an additional insured. I commonly get the renter to provide an insurance certificate, adding me and my equipment to the policy for rental and when I fly steadicam on set.

Currently, the authorities are hitting dead ends, so I am asking the community to help out by being wary of any c100 sales or rentals that seem suspicious.

The c100 was last seen in a black 1500 pelican case. Thanks!
