Stock Footage with HVX?

I appologize if this question has already been posed somewhere on this site. I looked, but the site is huge. At any rate:

I travel frequently for work, all over the U.S. and world, and I'm constantly trying to find more work that I can do while I am travelling. If I'm travelling to an area anyway I would like to work on 2 or 3 projects there rather than just 1.

I am wondering if there are any stock footage libraries out there that would buy footage shot with the HVX. Does anyone know how to get in touch with a stock footage company? I don't know if they commission shots or if they only take footage shot on spec and just buy what they want. Does anyone shoot stock footage or have any leads?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I know revostock.com allows you to sign up as a producer and to provide them your footage (you get a percentage of each sale they make from it). You just have to provide three samples. They sell from DV to HD footage.

Hey thanks Barry! :)

Brock, PM me and we can chat.

It kind of depends on what you want to do which route you want to take.
Allot of the houses mentioned above deal with Royalty free stock footage.

It's not the road I want to take and only sell my footage as rights managed as do the stock houses that carry my work.

For some people royalty free works for them. So like I said, it depends on the route you want to take.

So, I don't want this to turn into a Ford v Chevy debate so PM me and we can discuss both sides.

Brock,

I looked at your site and noticed that you are within 2 1/2 hours of Kansas City.
I am developing a stock site that sells royalty-free HD footage. (No HDV by the way)

http://www.ifoliohd.com

The site is not live yet but PM me and I will give you a back door link to the site in development so you can look around.

If you do want to take the royalty-free route, I'd like to talk to you.
