Overland Films Stock Footage Area - sp. for DVXUsers

All,

I've got a bulletin board set up at http://www.overlandfilms.com for anyone interested in contributing stock footage. There are a couple of threads going for tiers, compensation, copyright protection, distribution et-cetera. There is no cost to contribute footage or have it hosted. For any clips sold, Overland Films will assist by brokering the deal.

These pages are not live yet, but here is an example of what I'm thinking. It will be[come] a searchable database based on subject, format and so on.

There has also been discussion of complimentary peer to peer DVXUser footage swaps between members. Overland Films already hosts a locked area of the forum which is password protected for footage-contributing members to contact each other through PMs and email for such exchanges.

We have already decided against point and barter systems in favor of allowing members free-contact with one another in a fraternal manner. It was our feeling that bringing monetary or other considerations into non-purchase situations only would prove confusing and might well disenfranchise some members who contribute vast amounts of material versus those who contribute only a few clips to the community.

Let me know what I can do to make this happen!

My friend told me about this personal file-swapping program, where you can pick who you connect to, and the person you pick has to verifiy it, so it's your own judgement call if someone tries to connect with you to get footage. There's no need for screenings or anything such as that. I am searching right now for that program though.

What ever happened to this idea? Also what are some people's experiences with selling stock footage and what are some good footage houses to deal with. Thanks!
