Stock Availability in Australia

Does anyone know if stock actually exists for the PAL version of the GH2, I am trying to source for an upcoming trip to Central and South America and wish to purchase one instead of taking my HPX172. Due to the length of trip and baggage restrictions to some of the places I am going. Ie Fishing
Can we start an update thread as per the US guys so we know when they arrive?
 
I didn't know there was a stock shortage in Australia. It is showing on all the popular websites here and there is nothing to indicate they are out of stock. Where have you been looking?
 
Many are advertising them but none actually have them in stock, earliest expected dates in Australia not for another 2-3 weeks and they have been saying that for a month!
 
i am in sydney, i bought mine with the 14-140 on the 21st of march from digital camera warehouse. i think they were the 4th store i tried.

Unfortunately this camera is not currently available with Panasonic; stock is not expected to arrive until late April.

Have emailed them tonight, and will call them in the morning, fingers crossed.
Also have it on order with Digidirect, who informed me yesterday at least another two weeks.

Will more than likely be filming in 1080 50i due to the fast movements of my subject matter ie using auto focus, unfortunately Marlin, Sailfish,Tarpon etc do not take direction very well.

listed but not in stock if you look closely - they're as scarce as hens teeth here
 
i got mine from digitalrev in hongkong i got the body only as have GH1 and lenses it was a PAL model

Hi Guy's tried them as well, they were also out of stock, I have a mate going to Hong Kong this week and he is trying to find one for me.
I may have to be patient, which is hard when I have bought my Hoodman Cinema kit pro, Zoom h4n oredered my Sescom cable etc etc.
Just want one!
 
Thanks rambooc1 & Matt have emailed both and will give both a call in the morning, my mate in Hong Kong had no luck either.

I hope for your sake you haven't ordered the hoodman cinema kit pro with the hoodcrane to use on the GH2 - it doesn't fit at all. The GH1/2 body is so small that you cannot adjust the crane properly to align the loupe with the LCD screen. If you remove the vertical adjustment screw completely it will allow you to raise the vertical alignment higher than would normally be possible, but it still does not come close to fitting the GH2.

Hi deltoidjohn,
I have "The J-Cube adaptor which should do the same as the Hoodman Boost ie lifts the Hot shoe attachment point higher, so hopefully it will work.
Note : yoou had me worried and I only worked all this out, once I did a bit of searching re the issue, but fortunately I think I'm covered. As for availabilty still no luck Ryda are out of stock as wel,l have not heard back from Globalmedia and they do not have a phone number.
Impatient little bugger I am.
