Stills from Music Video

Hello, I'm a new poster on the forum, but, have been looking around here for a few years.

Here's a few stills from a new music video I'm working on, which should be finished up next week. Shot with the a1 and it's stock lens, performance shots are as they came from the camera, party scenes were color corrected in FCP, although their color will change most likely by the final edit.

The images look somewhat dark. What Db of gain did you use? -3 allows you to pull up the brightness a lot without loss.

gain was set to 0, are you saying that going to -3 would let me pull up the brightness in post without grain? and what would be the advantage of that over shooting it right in the first place? it did come out darker than i thought, was my first time using this camera and it was a learning experience. thanks for the comment.

no don't use -3 in low light. Always better to get the proper exposure in camera even if this means raising db. Also expose for the highlights since there is more detail to pull from shadows (this is the opposite with RAW or film)

That's what I was thinking, I wish I would've shot this a little brighter, but, I think it will look okay when brightened in final cut.
