C100: Still No Slow Motion, But G16 Gets 1080p60??

Blows my mind that the new Canon G16 gets 1080p60, but the c100 still does not have any slow motion and the c300 only has 720p60.

Also the sensor readout modes will be different on G16, Canon certainly don't want to implement 1080p60 on C100 with moire/aliasing and serious rolling shutter.

The Panasonic FZ200 has 1280 x 720p at 120 fps. Lots of lower class cameras have super cool features the more expensive counterparts don't get.

There's 4k cameras in cell phones, but that doesn't mean that the picture you get is any good. But still...it would be nice if Canon could get slomo into a C100 type of camera around it's current price range.

If you believe the G16 is good enough for your work, then it would be a good idea to buy it and fit it in your rig and keep it rolling at 60p. Later use those portions which you feel is good along with your C100 footage. I guess the quality of XA 25 and XA20 HD cameras at 60p would be much better than the G16.

If you need a fleeting few seconds of 60p, then that would be a cheap way of getting it. I would be very happy if Canon can give 50/60p at 1080 in the C300. However, the most important thing is not just having the feature. I would need instantaneous switching, else the action will be all over.
