How about the option to split the image into two sync'd identical images for use in stereo 3d. Maybe some Oakley shutter glasses too?
 
This is a valid point. Perhaps more likely though is making it easy to link two red cameras together with a special version of the cage, and allowing them to sync all their settings, and one set of controls effects both cameras. With James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez taking 3D seriously, making RED 3D friendly would be cool. Although, buying two of these cameras is going to be out of the range of most people. Then again it still costs less than one VariCam.
