Okay,

I'm heading out for the holidays and am unlikely to check in as often as I would normally do.

Here is the latest.

We broke the news to our Cast & Crew about the fate of "Battle" a couple nights back so now I'm sharing with the public.

"Battle" has been picked up by a LionsGate affiliate and will be released on DVD in the Spring through LionsGate Home Video.

As soon as I have the street date, I'll share it of course.

Oh yeah, I may need to start a new Thread because they've decide to change the name of the movie to...
well, you'll see :)

There will be a new trailer for the film available soon as well.

That's all the news fit to print at the moment, but rest assured, I'll be back soon to talk about the release date.

I hope everyone has a great Holiday Seaon no matter which holiday you're observing (or not observing)!

Amazing. Congrats. I just read all the other distribution news on the forums and don't really have much else to say except. Awesome Job and Merry Christmas.

Okay, masters have been locked down by the distibutor and delivered to manufacturing and other outlets...the name has changed in Netflix (poster seems to be hanging on) but I expect more updates soon.

Don't forget the IDES OF MARCH bringeth...STEP OFF!! (That's March 15th!)

Okay, here's a truly frightening prospect...Rotten Tomatoes!!!
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/step_off_2011/

Does anyone know any reviewers that like Hip-Hop movies?

I sense a lot of resistence on most blogs and boards etc. who won't even mention the movie might be related to an attitude negative to its Hip-Hop content. So hope to find some reviewers who would enjoy a good Hip-Hop film.

So help me find some...I know dvxusers know some Rotten Tomato reviewers. So post me the names and urls...

Thanks,

Martin

Thanks MentatDUKE and Shutterspeedfilms...I appreciate it.

2 weeks from Tuesday.

Got a few television interviews coming up (local but perhaps accessible via the net) in the next couple weeks to promote it and I'll definitely keep everyone in the loop about those.

Thanks again,

Martin

Added it here in Houston also. Is it supposed to get Best Buy or Wal-Mart distro?

As far as the Rotten Tomatoes people, some people think that any press is good press. I haven't seen too many good reviews on there. I think that Christopher Nolan movies probably fair well. Here's a suggestion. If you don't know who Barry Michael Cooper is, do a little research (ex. look at the New Jack City, Above the Rim, and Sugar Hill movie credits on the DVD or IMDB). I think that he still writes at the Huffington Post. Give him a shout and tell him that Shawnre' of Tieuel Legacy! Motion Pictures suggested that you contact him. Hopefully, he'll give you some commentary. His link is below. I'd be glad to provide the good, the bad, the ugly on the DVD once I watch it also.

Thanks for the Tip Shawnre'!

I'll look him up and hit 'em up.

It's available for pre-order at both Best Buy and Walmart as for how many units will ship to stores...I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for the YouTube note as well.

To clarify. They're messing up the "You Got Served" connection a little. Cassius (our Executive Producer) was a PRODUCER on "You Got Served" not an executive producer. And we did this project on our own. Cassius is a mentor and taught myself and my producing/writing partner about budgeting/scheduling and he got us a lot of script assignment work that allowed us to finance the movie and earned an executive producer credit through those efforts. We also knew that we'd attract some attention from the majors with him aboard the project. However, contrary to what some people think. Yes, this was completely independent and was acquired by Lionsgate. Not produced by them or even the "You Got Served" group.

Thanks again for the tip,

Martin
