Alright, so it's not a Merlin, and I made it out of PVC piping, but it steadies my shots. In the sample footage, I show a walk through of my house with the makeshift steadicam, and then the same walk through of my house without the steadicam. I'm pleased with the results, and the saved money.

I saw a picture of a makeshift pvc fig rig, and then went to the store and got what I needed.

How long did it take before your got sore??
Pretty nice footy though for what it is.

I happen to be pretty strong! But yeah, you see I have the wide angle adapter as well as the steadicam, so it probably is all about 10lbs. Which isn't too bad. In most cases, I'll be able to two hand it.

Oh, and for the footage shown, I was two handing both cuts.

Be careful with that A1...and consult a good orthopedist/neurologist.

From WebMD...
What To Expect After Surgery

After surgery, the hand is wrapped. The stitches are removed 10 to 14 days after surgery. You may be directed to wear a splint for several weeks. The pain and numbness may go away right after surgery or may take several months to subside. Try to avoid heavy use of your hand for up to 3 months."
