Steadicam Merlin Workshop?

Does anyone know if there are any Steadicam Merlin workshops in the NorthEast? I'm a Pennsylvania Merlin owner looking to get some higher education.

www.thesteadicamworkshops.com is the official Steadicam workshops website.

Given that Garrett is from Philly, PA is definatly the right place to find a workshop. :)

Obviously this is the first place I checked before posting. There is no mention of Merlin specific workshops on that site.

I don't know if non-Tiffen sponsored workshops exist (or for that matter even worth attending). Do private operators offer structured workshops?

Hey Garret how about a private lesson?

Many operators do actually offer private instruction.

Also, note that Tiffen/Steadicam does organize workshops on a per-damand basis. So be sure to drop them a line at the contact info on the site and ask them if there is somethign planning in Philly, and be sure to request you are lookign for Merlin training.

Of course if you've got a bigger workshop budget than the price of the rig, there's always the workshop(s) for the big rigs: http://www.steadicam-ops.com/ - held twice a year just outside Philly.

You can also find local ops on that page, might be worth calling around and seeing what people there want for an afternoon of hands on traning.

something tells me we can't afford his hourly rate.
If anyone does hear of an afternoon or day workshop for the Merlin, would definitely like to know about it.
