Started shooting a war film on the 7D

I just started doing Cinematography on a war film with the 7D, despite the drawbacks of the 7D it worked pretty well. Below are some screen grabs from the footage.

The war in Afghanistan, these are suppose to be flashback war scenes. I have 2 more war scenes to shoot and then start shooting the present day scenes.

I wanted use mostly natural light for these scenes, so I used a 1K, 2 mirror boards with Opal on the windows giving the main character nice edge light on his face. and some B-Boards for the talking scene. For the torture scene I used 2 1K's and b-boards.

I think it looks really clean, but it's a little bright for a war movie and needs more of a dirty look, but that's just my 2 cents.

Can't wait to see your final !!

it looks good as a stand alone image. Meaning...that the images are nice and sharp and clean. But for a war film this is just 2 clean for me. the actors clothes looks 2 clean...they themselves look 2 clean. They look like they just showered and the clothes are fresh from the laundry. the bright cheerful image doesnt do it for me at all for a war film.

Nice stand alone look though :)

I think you have some nice screen caps man. But for me it's too high key lighting, not enough grit, and overexposed.
