Start your engines - Firmware v 1.2 for PMW-F3 is now available

Installed no problemo on my F3. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but the camera seems to have a longer boot-up time than with the V1.1 firmware. Maybe if someone could do a time test before and after upgrading please.

Good in one way....thought it was just me. If you have a iPhone (stopwatch) or stopwatch, could you give a timing run for boot-up?

I don't have any iphone/stop watch, but its right around the 11 1/2 second mark, going my old fashion counting way =)

EDIT: exactly 11 1/2 secs.

About to apply the update. For curiosity, did everyone use SxS card or SDHC in MxM/Hoodman adapter?

I used a SDHC in an MxM adaptor. Formatted the card in the F3, ejected the SD card, copied the firmware file on my PC, reloaded the card into the F3, and updated. I just used a fresh U60 battery for power. Probably should have connected DC.

Updated without a hitch (had already formatted and copied to SxS card). I am not noticing any difference in boot time before or after update.

Early things I noticed

Early things I noticed

A couple of things so far with V1.2 (as I'm not very proficient with S-Log.) Powering up takes a little longer but the looping scroll function is very welcome.

Is the upgrade just for Slog or a general software upgrade that includes Slog user upgrades.

EI = electronic indexing is only enabled when S-Log is running and Preset whites (from what I see they work with S-Log again) but the other upgrades apply even without S-Log. These include:

3D Link
Power zoom lens
Reading ARRI lens data
Offset adjustment for preset white (R/B channels) for preset white (3200k) - I have no idea what that means yet. Any comments?
On/Off of the Rec2 indication
*Menu scrolling improved
*Monitor LUT data can be added to the clip for storage
*The Histogram is improved.

* These are the biggies for everyone IMO.

all im getting is the "No update file found" message.

Dled the Zip, unpacked it, unzipped the bin file to a .CGZA file, copied over to the root.... no go.

tried it with the Bin file directly, tried it in the Bpav folder....

nothin. whatgives?

I dont have the F3 in front of me, but from memory, In the Others menu there should be a firmware section. Click on it and select Version Up

Don't unzip the .bin file. Just copy it to the top level of your SxS/MxM card and it should work.
