AC130: standard def use 480i or 30p

I am doing a video of a singing recital and I'm planning to shoot it in DV mode but I'm not sure whether using the 480 60i or 30p would give me the best result. I will be putting everything on standard def DVD so figured that editing would be easier to just shoot in DV mode. Is there a noticable difference from the final product if it was shot in DV instead of HD? I'm new at this so any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend that you shoot it in HD, edit in HD then export a DVD. You should yield a nicer image than you would starting with standard definition DV.

You are likely to get a very reasonable end product with 720/30p and a scene like Filmic. In my view it will look more like a movie than a video at 720/30p but maybe a video look is what you want. I record 30 singing events year for one client and they are very happy with the results.

Here is one that I did at 1080/60p a couple of nights ago. http://youtu.be/Y2wPH3I8u7Y

Looks different of course on YouTube compared to rendered to a DVD.

The video looks great. I have had my ac130a for a couple of weeks and done some testing at home between the sd and hd modes and when put on dvd, I couldn't really see much difference. From the advice I've gotten, I'm going to use the 720 60p mode. Thanks for responding.
