So I ordered an hd 2000 five weeks ago, still hasn't arrived, been getting weekly updates from glidecam that they're having problems and will send next week. After this week I'm done with waiting, I need something similar to the hd 2000 in build, and a steadicam that will not be affected heavily by wind. Please provide links to other steadicams like the hd-2000. Thank you.
Stabilizer suggestions (for 7d $600 and under)

I can't give you real-world experience - but I've been doing the shoulder rig vs. stabilizer research; I think when I get a stabilizer it'll be the blackbird. Seems pretty good for the $$.
There's not a giant world of products out there in real gimbaled stabilizers for under a grand; I like that you can eventually get a vest for the Gildecam stuff, but reviews are all over the charts for their products.
I do like the Indian knock-offs though - they advertise them as having a "genuine wheelbarrow axle" for the gimbal.
(...and I'll build my own shoulder mount from aluminum, just haven't seen anything out there that seems just right.)
