SSD reader for 7Q

I have a 2011 MacBookPro which I will keep as long as possible as it's from the last anti glare display series. Unfortunately no USB 3.0 but thunderbolt instead.

FYI, the mid-2012 MBP was the last of the non-Retina (hi-res anti-glare) MacBook Pros, and has USB 3.0. That's the model I have, has a quad-core i7, too! Bummer the retinas aren't available with anti-glare.

I ended up going with the Convergent Design version of the SSD to USB 3.0 here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...P5DRJUS3UVW4_niw0WhHw_wcB&Q=&is=REG&A=details

Some day i do hope to get something like what Clermond is talking about. I don't have a Thunderbolt dock, don't know much about it yet.
Second FYI, that Convergent Design cable is just this: http://www.amazon.com/Cavalry-Upgra...022314&sr=1-15&keywords=seagate+usb+3.0+cable

how many MBS are u guys getting uploading your footage from your CD cards. I think i was getting around 100mbs after it settles using CD's USB transfer cable and closer to 200mbs with the sata6 cable attached to a MARVELL chip on an asrock extreme 9 board. i just purchased an Adaptec 8885 raid controller and the 2g cache module. hoping to get quicker upload speeds with that hookup. i like RAW but raw needs fast data transfer rates.
