yea this was for a class, it had to be 8 minutes and it couldn't have any sound, sop keep that in mind. The songs were put in later when I posted it, so it would be less boring.

I really liked the first 4 minutes. Lots of different shots and good pacing. The frantic bicycle riding got old (too long). BTW if I left my bike in the street in my neighborhood it would be gone in minutes. Thanks for sharing.

a lot of shots were just way too long IMO.
you sure did have to strech it out to 8 minutes didn't you...

true.
also if I had my garage door left open like that my house would have been robbed too

Yea, it was painful for me to make an 8 minute short. I have a 5 minute cap on my shorts because then it's not really all that short.

well I can't believe you had to make an 8 minute silent short for an introdunction film class.
how did the other students do?
..I'm sure most people ran out of material and made it seem too long..

because it's usually a one minute silent short.

We just turned them in, but I can't even imagine how painful theirs could be. I was the only one that complained about the 8 minutes, and the silence. It was painful to cut, I just put music in to cut it then didn't export those layers for the teachers dvd. I needed that music there so I didn't lose my mind.

haha, that's ture.
I can't imagine editing a complete silent film that runs 8 min. you must of been watching it over and over all day and think " I'll just put music over it"
now I wounder how the professor watches all films that were turned in..:zombie_smiley:

dude I dunno. Oh you wanna hear the best part? She also wanted the raw footage. She wanted it to "see how we assembled our stories." ahahahaah, can you imagine watching (I shot 30 min of footy, I hear other kids shot 90 min) footage, with get this, no sound as well. I think she has to be off her rocker to wanna watch that stuff, like I can't even imagine.

Question: how did you do the shot at around 2:22, with the lens compression. It looked fantastic, but I can never seem to pull those shots off :-/

if ur talking about the "zolly" shot at 2:18 u dolly in (push in) and zoom out or vise versa....at the same time. nicknamed zolly cuz u zoom and dolly in or out at the same time.

Is it the close up of him grabbing the folded glasses? That was just me sitting on the ground way back on full zoom with the iris wide open.
