C100: Squaretrade Warranties

Anybody know whats the deal with the squaretrade warranties that BHPhoto offers? For my c100 its over 500 bucks, so pretty expensive, but does anybody have it, and if so, is it worth it? The canon warranty system looks really solid, although this obviously covers dropps and spills it says which i'm sure canon wouldn't. Thoughts?

I don't have experience and don't know those who do. Just have some thoughts. How are you insuring the camera for theft or loss or are you? If you have or will get insurance for theft or lost equipment check to see what kind I rider you can get for damage ,it may not be as much - if they offer it. Drops / spills insurance looks intriguing but i would look at othe possible options to compare. Are there any limits in the fine print - deductibles - etc...

A real insurance policy that covers all your gear (and you!) seems like a better investment. I think my deductible is $500 and I pay around $1k a year for all gear and liability. Squaretrade might be nice if the C100 is your ONLY asset. But if my camera breaks or get stolen, there's at least double the value in accessories and support equipment that goes with it.

I'm curious about SquareTrade. They only insure cameras up to $3,000 so how did you get that price?
