Spy Master

Theo - at least you're having equipment problems, I'm having rain problems. I don't know the steps to a rain dance, so I have to revert to, "rain, rain, go away, come back, another day..." but that really doesn't work. I hope they finish up today.

Hey All! Thanks for checking in!

Kyle, dude.... I will never forget the moment I pulled up to the hangar and jumped out of the truck to give you a bear-hug! (I will never forget because I was thinking, "what the hell am I doing!? This guy's going to think I some kind of weirdo!") But it was so awesome to see you in person after all of the many pm's and phone calls.

I hope that we can work together again... You totally rock on the set!

And yeah, being a filmmaker is a fantastic feeling!

Best to you!

kurtmo, thanks man! I love to think of new ways to use gear! I promise that I should have more to post as I continue to grow.

Thanks for checking in!

Rebecca! Hi and hello! Sure miss seeing you and Norm on the boards. I hope that you are well.

I have been a little busy... pay jobs filled my weekend (which is good) and trying to get this film done.

I have to say... I have had two days of hell. I have discovered that my capture deck has decided to malfunction and not tell me!

I have been capturing my footage of last week's shoot and I have crappy, crappy footage! (and not all of it was my fault! :) )

The footage is filled with colored pixels and shifting images. I can't use any of it!

It took me quite a while to figure out the problem. (There was a few hours that I thought that it might be the dvx but thankfully that is not the case!)

I went out and bought a cheap-o dv camera and am now having success... though the footage I shot last week is trash. Kills me! I don't have a lot of time left and my actors are not really available!

I'll figure it out... some how!

Let me go into FCP and pull a couple of grabs for ya!

Hey Chuck!

I've had my rain problems as well! When I could get a break from the rain, I'd shoot... but I had to keep jumping out of the van and wiping the drizzle off of windsheild down between takes!

Good luck to you!

Man, sorry to hear about the footage. Ugh! I've missed chatting on the boards too! I've been pretty busy the last couple weeks with being out of town and kids' games, etc., but am home until next week when we leave for Lake Shasta on a houseboat. I am sooo excitited. :)

Lake Shasta!!! I haven't been there in ages. I used to love it there. I always loved taking my can of Shasta soda and looking at Mount Shasta and comparing it to the real mountain! (Silly but hey... I was like 10!)

Enjoy your trip! Shasta on a houseboat... that's got to be fun!

Nice cameo! Looks like an intense scene there. Yeah, we are going with about 5 other couples, have a couple wakeboarding boats going, etc. It should be a fun few days. I'm looking forward to some consistent sun time.

So, Theo, when you tapped on the window, did you say, "honey, I'm home" or did you say, "hey, where's the nearest 7-11?"

That's classic! I like it! Hey, time for some creative editing, huh? I'm in the same boat. When they say, "We'll fix it in post," I'm sure they don't mean script holes because of bad footage. :(

Hang in there, Ted. Time to just "let go and use the force".:)

Ha, ha. Like the screenies, Ted. The third one, you look a bit comedic though :)

Take care, man. I'm on my way out the door. I'm leaving for a month long foray in Indonesia after a 3 day stay in airplanes and airports. See ya on the flip side.

Jason

Great ted, you got the footage you need, I was worried about the weather, I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thanks for the comments! I appreciate them. And thanks Kyle... I did grab that .com but I have yet to do anything with it yet!

Plugging away at the post production stage...

Desperately needing a composer!!! (Everything that I do in Garage Band sounds cheesy!)

Anyone? Anyone??? :)

Theo, i would fully hook you up but im in frantic mode myself. If you wanna email me a rough cut i'd be happy to do some consulting, throw you some instrumentals from my library and sound design from my FX library based on what i see and feel would work for you. my email is madarisstudios@adelphia.net

Not as much as your Carli with the big gun! But thanks! :)

Larry and Defcon, thanks for the tips. I appreciate the help!

btw Defcon, I have not forgotten about the tutorial on my car-mount rig... I just want to do it right and can't seem to stop working on SPY MASTER!

Wow, Larry.... Leandro Gardini has done some mighty fine work! Nice!!!

I will admit that is not the kind of sound that I need. (I only wish my film was worthy of a huge, Cinematic score like he produces! )

I am actually looking for something a bit more funky!

I may write him anyway and inquire...

Thanks again!

He does a lot of stuff...I'm sure he can do what you want. He is extremely talented and extremely easy to work with.

Definitely give him a shout ... and you might be surprised, a "huge cinematic score" might take your film to a whole new level ;)
