Spy Master

Hi Jim! ADR? What's that? A Dumb Resource? Absolute Dialogue (w)reck?
Automated Dialogue Replacement

or

Additional Dialogue Recording

it's 'dubbing' for whatever reasons (ex. the wind in the boom mic... peaking... etc.)

Congrats on the Clinton gig! That lighting looks great!!
I miss you, man!!

Ted, I hope you are uploading this thing right now, I got a vested interest in this baby. I expect to win some sort of award for shakiest jib shot! Good luck getting it in, my girlfriend loves your film.

Tom man! -- I hope I get to see you sometime this summer!

It sucks that I couldn't run into you the last time I was there!!!

Hey Kyle! Thanks for the kudos. I felt pretty honored to get the job. It is a funny career that I lead. (and I was only kidding about the ADR stuff... but you knew that! :) )

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Jimbo... don't worry.... the entire world is going to see you shaky-a$$ jib shot. (btw folks, it's the only shot in the entire film where the camera swings and bounces all over the place! Not Jim's fault though... it was windy, the crane wasn't tightened and he had Beer and BBQ on his brain!)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Absolutely Aram! You, too!

Can't wait to see your work on the fest!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tom, you stop in and don't say "hi?" What's up with that???

I hope you're doing great... can't wait to check you out in CRISTO!

I am heartbroken over this. It was windy and the jib was a bit shaky but I really didn't see it at the time using that DVD player as a monitor. I had you check all the shots on the LCD and we didn't see it there either. I have learned the value of a production monitor on both Frozen River and Spymaster. I really think it is time for that investment although I have been avoiding it like the plague.

It's okay, I'm sure Ted's movie will be so compelling and exciting, no one will even notice a little shakey-cam. :)

hee hee... if only I was in the shot! (oh, I think that I am!!!)

Jim, don't be heart-broken. You were doing your best with what we had. And it's not that bad...

but you are right, a monitor is the ONLY way to go!

I never told you but the last shot (the one you did with a quicker jib movement to avoid the "shake..." it never came out! I don't get it. There is sound but there is no picture. Complete blackness! I think that the iris got shut... it's the only thing that I can think of. (but don't worry... I won't tell ANYBODY that you shot with the iris completely closed!!! :) )

d'oh!

d'oh!

Not Likely. I was looking at exposure bc we were shooting throught the window. We also reviewed all the shots we thought were good.

I am talking about the crane shot, not the window shot. But no biggie... I have bigger news...

I just got booked to do HILLARY CLINTON again!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim, thank you for all of your help and support. And I am delighted that your gf liked my film. I am anxious for you to see the final cut!

Best to you.

Best to all!

I have to go light a silly dance recital now. :(

(btw Jim, don't bother trying to call my cell phone... I dropped it in a glass of diet Coke and now it's dead!)

That phone has been the last place to reach you since I have known you.

Ted:

Hope everything went well with your film. What shakey shot?

So what's the story with your avatar? I know there's no In-n-Out's back east.

Hey John! I owe you an email.... just SOOOOOO freakin' busy right now!

Film came out great (I think)! I really appreciate everything that you did for me. A special thank you is coming soon.

Good! You didn't notice the shakey shot!!! (van approaching the warehouse)

In-N-Out is from CA trip!

I'll talk to you soon!

Nope, didn't notice.

In-n-Out Burger is awesome. Glad you got to try one. Did you get to try a Tommy's chili-cheese burger? A Johnny's pastrami sandwich? A Carney's chili dog? A couple of Tito's tacos?

Ok. Now I'm hungry. Must be lunch time for me. :)

I think I told the story on this board once about living back in Rochester, NY for a spell a few years back and the insanity in finding a Mexcian food joint, let alone a chili-cheese burger.

Ok. Enough. Go light those kids already!

Are you planning on making it out here this summer?? That'd be cool man. What are you going to work on? Or is it just to visit?

Ted, sorry buddy... I've been so overwhelmed with work lately. Had 2 projects due this week and another one (big one) due on Monday so I'm going to wind up working over the weekend to get it done. But I'll be quitting this job real soon to freelance, which means I'll have a lot more time for the stuff that matters!

Hey John, yeah... I remember that story you told. Damn good burgers.... I WANT ONE!!!

I do have an email coming to you. I've been slammed all day. Getting that film up, making a poster, setting these lights and then the last minute Hillary gig. I was actually sitting at the light board with a clear-com headset on one ear and a headset phone on the other! I was making phone calls (My buddy asked if I could advance this last minute gig) and lighting a show at the same time! It was crazy!!! I had to ask people to hold while I had to talk on the clear-com. Totally crazy. I don't recommend it!

Any way, a brief break (10 minutes) and then back on. I will write you tonight!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thanks Tod!!!!!!!!!! I hope to get together with you soon. I had a blast in Beantown with you.

Tom.... whatever!

-Ted

WOOOOO HOOOOOOO my film is up! No more stressing about that! Changes after changes! Never satisfied.

I will say it is my best sound yet. (that is not saying much) But I did pay a lot of attention to the actors levels. I'll write more on this later.... I had some interesting experiences.

But thanks to Horrorfest, the feedback said my sound sucked so I focused on that! (I still didn't get it right but I worked a lot in post.... btw.... I don't recommend this!)

Thanks!
