Springtime - a journey into macro space

When spring had arrived in Vienna, I thought about showing the beauty of nature, landscapes, ...

But then I realized that on a macro scale, it's incredible what is going on which you normally never realize!

I started initially to just reverse mount my 50mm f1.4 lens (taping it to the adapter), but then for quality reasons I bought a used 50mm f3.5 FD macro lens with a 25mm extender.

Almost everything was filmed in my garden, apart from the first sequence which was on a small hill very close to my house - I realized that the flowers there became extremely rare and are under severe protection! Just in the middle of Vienna ...

Fascinating - hope you enjoy my take on that!

Thank you! I always use smooth mode, with everything set to -2, with exeception of the colors.

best regards, Gunther

I'm impressed with the moving camera. I don't usually see those in these kinds of videos. Also, I'll have to try reversing FD lenses on the adapter again. Last time I tried it I couldn't seem to get it to work right.

GMC, since i bought my camera after seeing your first GH1 shots in Vimeo, i've always wondered why people dont refer to your shots while talking about the best GH1 shots.
Now if i may ask, why did you came with this after The Great Camera Shootout? ;-)

Yeah, the slider adds that bit of momentum to the shots which would otherwise just be static. Reversing my FD worked fine, but I could see a lot of distortion in the corners which led me to buy that 50mm f3.5 FD macro lens (I bought it used for 50€ at a local shop).
