Spies Girls

OMG! hilarious. This is about as clever as it gets ...
Hey James. Thanks for the kind thought, but I think you really need to get out more ...:)

(But seriously ... thanks - glad you had some fun with it)

... Great job! Hysterical!

I thought that the beginning was muddled on what the focus should be but I don't care....
Thanks Ted. Glad you liked it. A little more insight perhaps on what part of the beginning was muddled? I have my own thoughts and would really be interested in yours and whether they align with mine.

Very funny! Luckily I have seen WSF or it could have been a bit confusing ...
Thanks Kyser. I agree. Had I not seen White Slave Females (it's one of my favourite movies), I would have been confused too.

Edgen said:
ha!!! Sooo many DVX references in the film! Made me laugh and smile ...
Thanks Justin. That's the reaction I was looking for - and from you that's awesome. Cheers, bud.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Thanks, Jason. In a perfect world, I would have produced something that would have elicited one more "ha", but I'll settle for that.

LMAO! This was hilarious! I loved what happens to the narrator, and the cameos nearly made me pee my pants. Awesome stuff!
Ahhhh. My first near pants pee. What more could I hope for? Perhaps an entire bowel blow-out? Maybe next time. But for me right now, this is good enough. Thanks Gary.

Ahhhh. Brandon. Yeah - your name is in the 9 minute version and your character was clearly the smart guy with the FBI line (actually, he's smarter with the stuff that was left on the cutting room floor). Glad you liked it.

And for others viewing this, let me just say big thanks to Brandon who readily agreed to allow himself to be referenced in this little short - even if the mention of his name (and most of his scene) was lost in the dialogue cuts. A class act all the way. Thanks man.

Aw sad... well whenever you get that longer cut done, I'd love to see it... your film is just funny dude... love all the inside jokes.... :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I laughed out loud when you brought in Norm and Rebecca!! It kept me on my toes all the way through. This one was very clever and a lot of fun. It was every bit as good as Bucketman (another nice cameo, btw).

NIIICE... NO not norm's sculpted chest .... luckily I was spared :)

really nice and pretty funny... had to watch it twice just so i could see it all :)

I really enjoyed this too, got some good chuckles, except i'm watching with 3 other non-dvxusers and none of them laughed much cause they had no idea what was going on. Which makes me admire you for putting so much effort into something that only a select few are going to get/find amusing.

I LOVED IT!!!!

Oh my God, I knew you were going to make me laugh. I love the exposition
quip in the boardroom, the bucketman, bringing Norm & Becca into the picture,
the wardrobe, everything. I freakin' freakin' loved it.

That makes 3 films that make references to past fest: Theo's, yours and mine
(which is stuck in perpetual film land). That was great.

I say toss this out to some film festivals. It's smart, funny, filmed well, well lit,
just good story overall.

Awesome movie. My favorite so far.
I love these kind of posts. I won't mention that when Weston posted this, he had seen only one film (well, two if you count Norm's).

Thanks Weston. Much appreciated.

(Just kidding Norm:Drogar-Love(DBG): )

Brilliant farce. Loved the dude who wnted to take his shirt off. Pleasure to watch.
Thanks Hootzie. The best jokes are those founded at least partially in fact. You should meet Norm. Really.

Brian, nice job! I was dying laughing! What a blast!
Thanks, Rebecca. But I noticed you revised your original post. Your original post, which I happen to have open in another window was:

Brian, nice job! I was dying laughing! What a blast! And so, so much better than Norm's entry. He is such a dweeb and I hate him.
I see why you revised your post. But you do have a point.:Drogar-Love(DBG):

Funny! Nice recognizable locations, too.
Thanks, David. Glad you liked it (and your expertise on Vegas has helped me considerably in dealing with the pressures of these fests, for which I thank you. In that regard, my favourites remain The Mirage followed closely by Wynn's).

LOL! Nice tweaking of my posts. I had edited one because I didn't want to give away any spoilers, etc. I'll definitely be posting more later!

Hey Brian, I'll comment more later on, but don't want to spoil too much until others have had a chance to watch it. That said, I've viewed the film, and enjoyed it completely. Kudos on your work & look forward to seeing the full cut later on!
I think the cat's pretty much out of the bag now, bud. In fact, I've now posted the cast and crew list on the front page of this thread.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah - you can see the full 9 minute cut as soon as I finish the BTS materials (and gee - ya think you might figure anywhere in that?) and we schedule the wrap/premiere party.

Which, based on previous experience, some of our cast members might not survive. Right, Jodi? These fests are, after all, merely a thinly veiled excuse to turn one's liver to granite.

That was hilarious. Really made me laugh out loud. Happy to see the return of the B-Man (abbreviation 'cos I don't wanna spoil the fun). Great job!
Thanks, Leslie. Really great to please someone whose work I admire. And the return of the B-Man was not a "first choice", but a necessary one due to certain central cast members in the original script having conflicting schedules.

I totally did not know what to expect when I went to watch this. I liked it. Mark and I laughed and thought the humor was top notch! It was Fun!
Hey, thanks Matt. Much appreciated. Fun is good. And it beats the heck out of ... not fun.

Cheers.

Standard Disclaimer: I've yet to see a bad film so far in this fest. Congratulations to every film maker, everyone did a great job. All my comments and criticisms are meant to be constructive and helpful and in no way am I trying to take anything away from what you accomplished.

Good: One word: Hilarious. I thought it was pretty funny and then when Rebecca and Norm showed up I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the film. Loads of intelligent DVXuser comedy. Loved that you managed to make fun of the Robin requirement and the Eric requirement from last time.

Not as Good: The audio wasn't too good and seem out of synch at times. The guy's CIA crack wasn't as funny as all the other jokes.

This was even better than bucketman. I agree, the first joke had me thinking this was going to be stupid but it actually made the other jokes much more funnier. I can't wait for your next one!
Good job and nice lighting on the 2 girls at the end.

Thanks, Blaine. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. And yeah - I wasn't too keen on the return of Bucketman, but it kinda followed one of the themes in the end (that theme being filmmakers - no one here, of course - who have no new, original ideas so they revert to remaking what has previously been marginally successful). And it was fitting that the idiot B-Man seems to always get shot in the end.

I just realized they open the briefcase and say, "Fantastic!"

And THEN they ask what it is.

LOL.
That was actually the reaction my Mom has to most of my films. Only she doesn't usually say "Fantastic".

There was a brief moment there where I considered scripting Norm ripping his shirt off at the end of the scene. Then I told him I just wouldn't do it. No matter how much he whined.

Glad you liked it Michael. Thanks.

HA! I was waiting for that comment. Thanks, man.

This piece was intentionally scripted for its market (Hey. Filmmaking and markets. What a novel concept). And its "market" here is the DVXUser crew. The goal was to entertain you and bring a smile or two. It was also intended (if you want to dig under the silliness) to gently and good-naturedly comment on some previous talented entries in these fests. Almost all of the more pointed satire was cut from this version (there was a scene involving stereotypical heartbeats that killed me when I had to lose it) due to time constraints (and yeah - thanks again Jarred).

So as for the non-DVXUsers, hopefully they laughed at least just a little. And I betcha none of them have 100 posts, so bummer, man.

That's it for now. And there are soooooo many more that even I hesitate to post. But it gives you some idea that we have fun shooting and we shoot to have fun.

Thanks to Dave, Rebecca and the cardboard cut-out guy in the gray t-shirt whose name I didn't catch.

LOL! I hadn't viewed these photos in awhile, probably for good reason. That was a fun night and we are glad we were able to entertain you Northwest style. We are ready for a cast/crew party up in B.C. baby!
