In T2, don't they explain that part? I know that there was the deleted scen where they open up his head to turn the learning part on, but i thought there was somepiece of dialog that kinda made the rest make sense. oh well[/quote]

I watched this movie again yesterday on the IMAX, and it looked so cool. It is pretty amazing how easy it is to stop the CGI on the IMAX. Like the train scene, when the train has passed through the springs to stop the train, you can actually see that it is a CGI character.
Another scene is when doc oc was braking the steel bars near the end. You could obviously see that it was a CGI character.

Now, regarding the tentacles, he did mention that it was immune to electromagnetism. So, I guess I had missed it the first time.

All the best

Re: Spiderman 2

Yes the tenticle are immune to magnestism and heat. Impervious if you will. It being a comic book movie, all they need to do is say it for you to awknowledge that it's possible, not explain it. They have frickin FUSION power in the movie. People know how to make fusion, it's called a nuclear bomb... can they stabilize it? NOOOO that's why they skip over that part of the movie so nicely.

"What have we been talking about for the past hour"

Another thing. The reason Oc's tenticles aren't attracted is because you don't know what's inside the shell of them, it's possible they have an electromagnet within them that gives off enough of a magnetic field to repell any magnetic field forced upon them. That's the advantage to comic books and such, you can explain anything in anyway believable.

To say that this movie wasn't a good movie shows how little someone knows about filmmaking. Not liking it is one thing, but saying it wasn't good is something completely different. This film is far better than the majority of movies that have come out this year. Tell me one thing that went against the story they were trying to tell. You can say to me as well that you're able to spot every instance of CG in that movie. I HIGHLY doubt that. Many times you can spot it because you know no human could actually do that, there are times you can spot it because it's simply not good looking enough, other times you'll think there was CG where there wasn't. Oc's tenticles are the perfect example. Throughout the entire movie I couldn't tell when they were real animatronics or CG... they intercut the two ALL the time...

The acting in the movie is fantastic. Aunt May had one of the best performances of the year. The score by Danny Elfman is terrific. There's no single aspect of this movie that you can say was poorly done, only say that you don't like spider-man and thus don't like the movie...

Re: Spiderman 2

I thought this movie was awsome. I am a big spiderman fan. Most of the people who I talk to didnt like this movie, they say that not enough spiderman ass kicking and too much touchie feelie. That irritates me because the whole concept was to reveal the psycological problems that Peter Parker as a person was going through. People forget that Spiderman is a person too. He needs love, he needs friends, and he needs all the things the rest of us do. That is what made this movie so great. Its not an action film full of one liners. It is a deep film that has many layers. The more dimensional a character is the better. People can relate to Spiderman. Except for the webslinging and Spidersense.

Re: Spiderman 2

I agree with that. Plus, when people say that there wasn't enough spidey butt kicking I tell them that it's probably going to work like this.

S1- Peter gets his powers.
S2- Peter deals with his powers.
S3- Peter uses his powers to kick more ass than the first two combined.

Just MHO

I agree that the film was good, but I do not agree that if someone says that the movie isnt' good, it means that they don't understand about filmmaking. If you don't like something, it is because you don't think it is good. Is this a good song? yes. Why? Because I like it. Was it a good movie? Yes. Why? The story, character, everything was amazing. That means the person liked it.
People have different opinions, and we have to learn to respect that. If you thought that the movie was good, that doesn't make you some Einstein in filmmaking, and it doesn't mean that other people have to think the same.
I actually thought the movie was good, but that doesn't mean I understand more about film making than those that didn't think the movie was good, because I know a few people that didn't like the film

As for the CGI, well, go watch the movie in cinemascope and you will know what I am talking about. When I watched the film on normal screens, I dind't notice the CGI, but on the IMAX experience, as they call it, you can spot some of the CGI.

If after you watched it on the IMAX, you still think that you can't spot it, then that is how you perceive it. It doesn't mean that I know more than you do.

I have seen this film yesterday. I loved the first part of it. But I really didn't enjoy the second part. it was just too heroistic
