Speed booster with canon efs 17-55mm?

I just got a gh2 with a metabones speed booster. All of my canon ef lenses work except for my efs 17-55 zoom. Why is that and what can I do? Thanks!

Canon EFS lenses have a plastic bumper stuck on the rear. In the case of the 17-55/2.8 EFS (and, for that matter, all other EFS lenses as far as I know) the only mechanical interference with the Speed Booster is caused by the plastic bumber. Many people have had good results using this lens on a Speed Booster simply by removing the plastic part. Here is a video showing this done with a screwdriver: https://vimeo.com/102685947 . Others have noted you can do the same thing more safely by zooming to the long end and simply grabbing the plastic part with your fingers. On a GH camera you wind up with a 12-39mm f/2 lens with reportedly better image stabilization than you can get with native m4/3 lenses.
